INTERIOR DESIGN

"Interior designer?  . . . Oh, I didn't know you were a decorator!"

How many professional designers find themselves in this seemingly innocuous conversation? Your skin crawls and jaw muscles tighten, while your head and heart compete for a response that is appropriate which, more often than not, is easier said than done:

"No! I don't pick colors!

Well, yes, I suppose I do that; but I also do so MUCH more!"

Welcome to the world of Interior Design. After passing the rigorous NCIDQ exam in 1986, I thought that my biggest challenges were behind me. Nothing could have been farther from the truth. My subsequent years have been spent educating clients on the importance of Interior Design as both a science and a process.
